~Merry Christmas, all~

Haul!Post tiem~

+ BEAUTIFUL. GORRAM. RAINBOOTS. AHFKJALDJKASK ♥ I have been looking for rainboots for the past four months and now I have NO MORE EXCUSES for having wet feet. *_*
+ Microfleecey green jacket
+ A short sleeved shirt with several of the Dharma station symbols on it. Which was given to me in a box labeled "To: Carolyn, From: Ben". Spent several moments trying to figure out who the hell Ben was before catching on.
+ Small box of various tea bags
+ A Laptop stand with a fan
+ Nerf Gun
+ Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (so that I may finally start playing the games in chronological order)
+ Ocean Eyes ~ Owl City
+ iTunes gift card ($50)
+ $150 cash

Shortly hereafter I shall be purchasing a tablet. It shall, with hope, serve me well.

I had a good day, involving nearly oversleeping (...) and then gorging myself on various candies which seems to have left me in some sort of stupor. Much love to all of you! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥!
This morning I woke up early and, while everybody else was at church (I went yesterday to play in the Nativity pageant), cooked Mom and Dad their Christmas present. Took out all the food hidden in the garage, donned the necessary rainbow plaid apron and red chef's toque, and tore the kitchen to bloody pieces making bibimbap and unagi don. It was a resounding success. :D I will be making that shit again. (Actually my next project is kimchi, because I bought all the damn cabbage and didn't do anything with it and it is taking up valuable shelf space because nappa cabbages are huge.)

My haul was excellent. Fixed laptop; So Percussion and Mozart CDs; pretty clothes; sushi-making things; excellent books (The Case For God; Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bible!; The Gate by the Stairs; and The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in one gigantic, gorgeous green volume. Heeeee.); tickets to a surprise show sometime in January; tickets to see a young cellist named Narek Hakhnazaryan in March; Snow Fairy (YEEEEEAH); a coffee mug; and gorgeous jewelry, including the most ridiculous and wonderful owl bling in the world. His name is Balthazar.

So we are all bursting with holiday joy up here, despite the fact that it is about 55 degrees and raining. I hope all of you have a beautiful day. Actually a beautiful twelve days, because we are Catholic and this is really kind of the middle of the holiday season, considering we started mentally preparing for this a month ago. So, happy end-of-Advent, happy beginning-of-Christmas. :D

Love you guys! <3~

Today I'm going to finish the last of my Christmas shopping (cinnamon buns for the Squirt, a GGC hat for Led-boy). I'm going to submit my application to GSU's school of music in a leisurely fashion. I'm going to practice two hours of cello. I'm going to read Anansi Boys and play Phoenix Wright for the first time in months. I'm going to go have dinner with Nicole in the evening. I'll probably even find half an hour to catch up on tags.

Squirt's in the living room belting David Bowie; it's a cold and sunny Georgia winter day; the house is warm and my slippers are fluffy. Truly, life does not get better than this. :D

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last week I gave [info]digitalanathema a kidney (1000 points). In February I donated bone marrow to [info]rivertheinsane in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Last Tuesday I broke [info]southeastofyou 's X-Box (-12 points). Last month I punched [info]ninasafiri in the arm (-10 points). Last Monday I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). Overall, I've been nice (1978 points). For Christmas I deserve an Easy-Bake Oven!
Sincerely, reaperlyn

Hmm. I've been rather big on the significant medical procedures lately. I wonder if that would affect my ability to rule over Minnesota.

Day 19 → A talent of yours

I can draw okay. I'm actually planning on practicing a bit more this break. I wanna get better... and see if I can actually make some kind of living off of art. That's all I'm really, truly passionate about... is video games, and telling stories, and cartooning. And I wanna do that forever! I made a Deviantart. I'll link to it once I actually put something up. I've lately taken up watercolor again. It's... hard. But so fun!

So yesterday I went to Ziggy for the first time in five weeks, due to extensive traveling on his part. I brought along my NYU audition music and told him please to beat me over the head with it until I was good enough to get into NYU. Because he is Ziggy and wonderful, he spent the next hour cheerfully stamping my self-esteem into the dirt at the same time that he gave me hope that maybe I can do this.

Maybe I ought to do visualization exercises or something, because the above is pretty much exactly what he told me, in Ziggy-ese - "When you play with confidence, is, like, wow. You go to New York! You cannot be afraid to play loud for New Yorkers, or they don't listen to you! Play like you MEAN it and you get into any school you want! Learn to take criticism and you can take any audition! ...And besides, is music education. They are not looking for so much from you." (sob honesty. I love it.)

He left me with instructions: "You khhheff to get serious. For thirty days, get serious. When you have twenty hours, call me." And he showed me the door.

I'm gonna see if I can do that in... ten days. Have another lesson before the New Year. I've done an hour since Tuesday, when we had our lesson; now that finals and work are drawing to a close, I can start doing two. Or more. C'mon, I did it at GHP; last week I did three and a half hours a day, on average, for Peter and the Wolf. I got this!! Even if I already hate that courante with all the burning intensity of a thousand suns, I got this!!

Maybe I'll post a few in-progress vids. Get some feedback. (The one I've heard the most so far from people who've heard it: "Wow! That sounds hard! You're doing really good!" It's a backhanded compliment because if they can tell I find it hard then I'm already doin' it wrong.) Damn it I'm getting into this school.

I HAVE FOUND MY RESOLVE

And thus do I declare myself DONE with this year.

Calculus final is finished. I do not not know if I passed it, or if I did, how badly I failed it. But dammit I passed the class, and now that that's done, I refuse to work any more this year on anything that is not a college application. Refuse.

SENIOR YEAR: HALFWAY DONE. FUCK YEAH.

edit:

FINAL AP CALCULUS GRADE:

83.

THAT IS HOW YOU FUCKING DO IT.

What day is it now? 13? Forgive the lateness, but I fear I've been trying to actually study. The fact that I have two exams in two days is starting to finally hit me, yaaay! It's gonna be super happy fun times, for sure.

That being said, I'm really not that worried. I just need to review the material, that's all.

I beat the last chapter of Tale of Monkey Island a few days ago and it did not disappoint. Saying any more would go completely over all of your heads. Also I get new Sam and Max in 2010. Life? Good.

Day 11 → A photo of you taken recently

Behold my sepia-toned glory and TREMBLE.

Day 12 → Whatever tickles your fancy

Uhmmm.... Homestar Runner. I've recently become rather amused by it (why do I always find these things during times I really, really need to study?) I can't figure out how to embed videos from their site, though, so here's a link to an SBEmail.

Day 13 → A fictional book

Wait, I'm confused. Is this a book that is fictional, as in, a made-up book, or a fiction book, as in, the type of writing that tells made up stories? ...oh well, I'll list both!

So the floor is talking, guys.

There are four guys under the house working on the crawl space. I can hear them through the vent on the floor next to me. They were just talking incoherently mostly, but now they're started singing. They're pretty good, actually. They did "I've been working on the railroad" first, and then "Camptown Races," and then "9 to 5," and they even started rapping for a brief period, which was pretty cool. I don't think they know I can hear them. It's pretty awesome. |D

Today I realized that the audition part of my NYU app isn't due until February. I suddenly feel like I can breathe again. YAAAAAAAY TWO MORE MONTHS TO PROCASTINATE 8DDDDD

oh btw now that I'm active enough to make it worthwhile...
